The Soveja Sustainable Rural Regeneration Workshop is a multidisciplinary event open to students and professionals coming from the Rural Development, Urban and Regional Planning, Landscape, Architecture, Geography, Agronomy, Sociology, Anthropology and Public Administration areas. The goal of the project is to initiate a process of cultural, economic and spatial regeneration in the remote rural area of Soveja, in the mountainous region of Romania.
Participants will live and work in the hilly landscape of pastures and forests, still preserved according to a traditional lifestyle and will engage in lectures, discussions, studios, discovery tours and networking activities. The Soveja Workshop presents an opportunity to study and understand the specific opportunity and potential of the rural environment and tackle the issues of the traditional villages in today’s globalized economy.
