Introduction
Once a year the ELASA Information-Center prints a Yearbook which explains the work of ELASA and provides updated and concise information about most European schools and universities which offer a Landscape Architecture programme. It also contains information about various other organizations that ELASA has contact with and a chapter from the last ELASA conference.
At present, the Information-Centre is in Norway. The collection and exchange of information is the principle work of the centre. This information is of vital importance to students of Landscape Architecture in Europe where qualifications and diplomas in the subject vary from country to country. Student exchanges and “internships” are often difficult because of these inconsistencies.
This year the conferencs took place in Arendal, Norway and was alleaded by 100 students representing 25 countries. Representatives from ELASA also work in conjunction with EFLA (European Foundation of Landscape Architects), ECLAS (European Conference of Landscape Studies), IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects) and CELA (Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture).
The second Yearbook in ELASAs history has become a fact. It’s a piece of work which continue the work done by the Swiss in 92-93. All the information that we have received has been taken care of, but still there are some information missing.
I will on the behalf of the Norwegians students, thank all of you who came to the Congress in Norway. You were all involved in making it to a great experience for all of us. I will also thank the arranging comity, who did an enormous job with the congress. It was very well arranged.
Thanks to you who are involved in the ELASA Info-Centre. You are doing a great job in collecting, working up and publishing the information from all over Europe. And I will also thank you in Europe who have helped us in collecting information for the Yearbook and the News-Letters.
