Trip to Kristiansand

We went around in the town guided by landscapearchitect Kjellaug Eik. We looked at a new construction “NUPEN ANLEGGET” by the harbour. It has been a co-operation between an artist and landscapearchitects. Containing several sculptural fountains and small hills with grass.
We went further to see the marked -place, and some reconstruction of old wooden houses. After that we walked through a recreation area to a tiny but dramatic and romantic garden, with a steep hill on the side and an artificial small lake with swans and a small rowboat.
Kristiansand Amusement and Wildlife Park
By the Director we were informed about the whole concept of the park. It started with a small zoo and it has expanded every year. The latest attraction is an area with wolfs. They also have this special “Kardemomme Town” for children. A tiny society created by the author Torbjørn Egner. There are usually cactuses and exotic plants in this area.
After the lecture we walked around in the park of our own and some got a wet experience going on one of the water rides. They have tried to preserve the nature within the park.
