Our History

ELASA emerged in 1990, when landscape architecture students in Portugal organised the first meeting and invited peers from across Europe to connect beyond national borders. What started as a small, student-led gathering has grown into a long-standing tradition of regular international meetings and a strong, collaborative community.
Over the years, the network has been sustained entirely thanks to voluntary engagement, mutual trust, and the exchange of knowledge between generations of students. Despite its informal structure, ELASA has grown into a lasting tradition and a truly memorable experience for many!
