What is ELASA?
ELASA is an open and intentionally informal network that connects students of landscape architecture and related fields across Europe. Even without a formal legal structure, the association has grown over decades into a well-established and widely recognised part of the European landscape architecture community.
Anyone studying within the broad spectrum of landscape architecture, landscape and environmental planning, landscape management, urban design, ecology, restoration, planting design or landscape heritage is already considered part of ELASA. There is no membership process. The spirit of the network comes to life through the meetings, where curiosity, collaboration and exchange shape the shared experience.

ELASA Guideline: Structure, Values and How the Network Works
This guideline introduces the values, structure and functioning of ELASA as a student-driven European network for landscape architecture. It clarifies that the document is not a strict rulebook but an open framework, complemented by a separate organiser’s guide for planning meetings. The text was developed by the guideline working group from September 2024 to April 2025, accepted at the 2025 annual plenary in Romania and last revised in November 2025. Future updates are encouraged and may be carried out by upcoming working groups.
